Gemini 3.8 Flash is in Google Antigravity. That is a surface change, not a Fairwind seat

On 1 September 2026 the Antigravity team put Gemini 3.8 Flash in the agent IDE, CLI, and manager at Flash’s introductory price. Flash Cyber is still a Fairwind product. Score the harness you will actually click.

On 1 September 2026, the Antigravity team wrote that Gemini 3.8 Flash is available inside Google Antigravity. The post called it the third Flash release in six weeks and kept the Flash introductory rate: $0.75 per million input tokens and $3.75 per million output tokens.

Antigravity is a manager, an IDE, a CLI, and an SDK

The Antigravity homepage lists four surfaces on one harness. Google states developer access at no charge and a separate path for organizations. Confirm quotas and enterprise terms before you treat the free line as a production plan.

  • Antigravity 2.0 manager: parallel local agents, projects, multiple workspaces, scheduled messages.
  • Antigravity IDE: the agentic editor with artifacts and codebase context.
  • Antigravity CLI: terminal-first agents, shell commands, background subagents.
  • Antigravity SDK: Python scripts on the same harness for custom agents and evaluations.

The 1 September note says developers can adjust thinking levels to control reasoning depth and latency, and that Gemini 3.7 Flash remains available when the priority is compute efficiency. Those are product controls on the Google Antigravity profile, not a reason to drop Claude Code or Cursor from the same bake-off.

Flash in Antigravity is not Flash Cyber

Google split Gemini 3.8 into a public workhorse and a Fairwind-only cyber SKU. Antigravity’s get-started line is 3.8 Flash. Fairwind’s get-started line is Flash Cyber plus CodeMender. Do not write “we use Antigravity, so we have the cyber model.”

  • Price clock: the $0.75 / $3.75 introductory rate ends 31 December 2026. Google says $1.50 / $7.50 applies on 1 January 2027.

How to score Antigravity against Claude Code and Cursor this week

A Flash upgrade inside an existing Google seat is cheap to try and easy to over-read. Run the same ticket you would give Claude Code. Score the log, the approval step, and whether you can stop the run.

  1. Install or open Antigravity on one real repository, not the dungeon-editor demo from the blog.
  2. Set an explicit thinking level. Record tokens and wall-clock time. Repeat the job on 3.7 Flash if cost matters.
  3. Run the same ticket in Claude Code on Fable 5.1 and in Cursor on your current default.
  4. Write down where diffs go, which MCP servers the agent can reach, and who has to approve a write.
  5. If the org is not already on Gemini, ask whether a second identity (Google) is worth it versus staying on Claude or ChatGPT seats.
  6. Save the result on the coding-agents collection instead of arguing from the launch clip.
