What is NotebookLM used for?
NotebookLM is a Google product that answers questions from sources you add to a notebook. People use it for briefing a known set of PDFs or notes. It is not a replacement for a reference manager. You still need DOIs and a citation style for publication.
Is ChatPDF accurate enough to cite?
Use it to find the page you should read. Do not cite the chat. Models skip caveats and invent numbers. If the claim matters, open the PDF and quote from there.
How do these tools differ from ChatGPT?
ChatGPT can browse or accept uploads, but it is a general assistant. NotebookLM, ChatPDF, and Humata are built around a document set. You still have the same hallucination risk. The difference is the default context, not magic truth.
Should I cancel Zotero if I use these tools?
